High School Service and Immersion
One week of services and immersion: four days of service working with local students and community groups, and three days of immersion activities in Puerto Rico or in the Dominican Republic.
Cost: About US$1,200 per participant.
Each trip is customized by focus-theme, local holidays, transportation challenges, etc. This a proposal for the Dominican Republic:
Day 1
Airport pick-up (SDQ); three-hour transfer to Monte Grande, Azua; orientation; welcome dinner with community leaders and Politécnico Loyola seniors.
Days 2, 3 and 4
Community Service
Breakfast; volunteer project; lunch on-site; games with local students; dinner at housing site followed by reflection time.
Day 5
Service in the Morning, Beach in the Afternoon
Breakfast; final morning at volunteer project; lunch and afternoon at the beach; dinner and reflection.
Day 6
History in Santo Domingo
Breakfast; travel to Santo Domingo to explore the historic Colonial Zone; optional Mass; dinner with seniors and Jesuits; overnight at a Jesuit retreat house.
Day 7
Breakfast, group reflection, and airport drop-off.

Airport pick-up (SJU), transfer to accommodations in San Juan, orientation, and welcome dinner with local high school seniors.
Day 2
Service and Tour
Breakfast; visit local high school and begin volunteer project; lunch on-site; guided tour of historic Old San Juan with seniors; dinner at a local restaurant.
Days 3, 4 and 5
Community Service
Breakfast; volunteer project; lunch on-site; dinner at housing site followed by reflection time. Afternoon options: historic sites or local beach.
Day 6
Hiking in the Forest
Breakfast; hike in El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S.; visit local attractions; optional Mass; dinner with local high school seniors.
Day 7
Breakfast, group reflection, and airport drop-off.
